Kollage: Legacy
Tucked away in a corner of Peshawar cantonment
was a small shop supplying Silverware to the
European army units stationed in India. That was
more than 100 years ago.
Carrying forward the family legacy of Whorra
Brothers, Deepak Whorra entered the silverware
business as an independent entrepreneur.
Along with his brother, they started exporting and
selling to some of the best names in the world like
Casa Armani, Ralph Lauren, Rosenthal, Lambert,
Sabattinin, Wallace Sterling, Lentini etc.
Deepak Whorra used to look after design, development
and different manufacturing techniques.
In 2001, seeing the gap in the domestic silverware
market for high-quality, contemporary design-
based silverware, they established their domestic
marketing business and sold across India under
the brand name Episode. He came
out with designs that had never been seen by the
Indian consumer and, till today, despite being
extensively copied, many of those designs have
not been replicated by others mainly because the
manufacturing techniques developed by are difficult to copy,
Of course not all designs are straight from the
drawing board but some designs are a mixture of
artisans creativity and Deepak's creative
inputs. With a over 100 years lineage of, first
Whorra Brothers and then the relatively later
design sensibilities of Episode, unique designs
were but a natural outcome.
Having moved on from Episode, Deepak
recently established Kollage to offer contemporary
designs at a quality level not seen in India.
All products offered are completely MADE IN
INDIA with not a single article drawn from Chinese
Imports. Most products are pure Copper /brass and coated
with fine silver and LACQUERED. Some products
are filled to impart stability.
